The Tony Awards celebrates the best of American Broadway productions. On Sunday at the glamourous event, hosted by Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles, several awards were given out including lifetime achievement awards to Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and Broadway star Chita Rivera.
However, highlight of the event was when Robert De Niro came on stage to introduce Bruce Springsteen, who won a special Tony Award for his sold-out Broadway show “Springsteen on Broadway.”
De Niro came on stage to declare twice: “F**k Trump.” The crowd gave him a standing ovation. He said it is no more ‘Down with Trump’ but “F*** Trump.”
Some broadcasters were quick to beep out the expletive.
